Robin Sun

Robin Sun initially joined Ellis Investment Partners, LLC over six years ago as a technical adviser coordinating the development and implementation of technology infrastructure needs for the newly established firm. His extensive background in technology makes him a vital member of the Portfolio Management Operations Team where he is involved in the streamlining of processes for Research and Analysis and ensuring that any portfolio management tools used by EIP LLC is at the forefront of the industry. As of January 2018, Robin has accepted the role of Information & Technology Officer for EIP LLC. In this capacity, he is responsible for developing cybersecurity policies & procedures, assisting the Chief Compliance Officer in the enforcement of cybersecurity guidelines, supporting the smooth operation of computer networks & programs and maintaining our website.

After attending University of California, Irvine, he worked for Vilink Communications, a fiber optic communications equipment manufacturer, as their Marketing Specialist and IT Manager. In his role, he provided consultation to various businesses and government agencies (domestic & international) on the design and implementation of new technologies for security monitoring and communications. Upon leaving Vilink Communications, Robin joined Howie’s Game Shack as their IT Director where he planned/managed the construction, setup and launch of new store locations across Southern California and Arizona. Robin holds a BA in Sociology from the University of California, Irvine.

With over 15 years of experience in the technology industry, Robin has been providing qualitative insight into various technology companies that are being tracked by the Investment Committee. His feedback on understanding the dynamic characteristics associated with the evolution of technology and its impact on competitive factors driving corporate fundamentals has been extremely valuable. During his tenure with EIP LLC, he has completed all of the education coursework requirements for the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation and is eligible to sit for the exam. In addition to his role within the firm, Robin also assists individuals and families with their financial planning needs including portfolio reviews.

As an appointed successor trustee, Robin is actively involved with the Board of Trustees and is expected to assume the role of any voting member who is not able to fulfill his or her duties.

Robin and his wife, Theresa, have been married for over 14 years and reside near Los Angeles, CA with their two daughters.
